So how do you get started with the submission of your site? It’s actually a pretty easy task that you should be able to take care of in a short period of time. There are literally thousands of sites that you can submit your website to but for now I’m going to focus on the major players. I would suggest not using an automated service for submission at this point. After all, you can take about 10 minutes to submit to the big guys and it doesn’t cost you anything but your time.

Google, Yahoo, Bing, DMOZ -

Google – http://www.google.com/addurl/ – type in your website along with any comments you may have about your site and click “add url” – simple as that!

Yahoo – http://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com/submit – click on “Submit a Website or Webpage” and enter your url – piece of cake!

Bing (formerly MSN Live Search) – http://www.bing.com/docs/submit.aspx – Type in the letters seen in the “captcha” then type in your website, click “Submit URL” – done!

DMOZ open directory project – http://www.dmoz.org/add.html – for DMOZ you need to make sure your site is put in the correct directory and that your site conforms to the guidelines stated. This may take you a couple of minutes but you definately don’t want to skip over this one. When you are excepted into the directory (which can take weeks or months) the other search engines will give your site a little more recognition. You will also, over time, start to be noticed in the smaller search engines that you may not even heard of.

Now that you are done with the submission of your website to the search engines, you can focus more on the content of your site and trying to get higher rankings when people search for what you are offering.

Is Direct Matches a Scam? Let's take a look at what they have to offer and what they don't.

Depending upon how you look at it Direct Matches could be considered a scam. On one hand you may see it as a good vehicle for a social network that allows you to earn money while you interact with others in the business community. On the other hand you may see it as an unattractive site with generic advertising and promises of making money hand over fist.

Let’s break it down to pros and cons -

The Pros:

Huge community of business professionals looking to network

Free and Paid accounts

Residual Income

Spillover from members above you (if you have a good sponsor this helps tremendously)

Ability to earn an unlimited amount

Advertise whatever type of business you want

The Cons:

Not a very good looking site (compared to Facebook, Myspace etc.)

Can’t earn money as a free member

First impressions could be that this is a pyramid scheme

I have been with Direct Matches for a little over a year and I must say that I barely use the services that are offered. I am actually making money with it only because I am able to market it through the Spiderweb Marketing System. If not for the fact that it is part of my marketing system I would most likely not use it at all. If you would like to learn more about the spiderweb marketing system visit “How The Spiderweb Marketing System Works“.

One thing I do like about Direct Matches is that you get spillover from your upper levels. Of course, this is only good if your upper levels are actually referring people. When you do get a large enough team in your downline then you do start to make some money and you will start receiving checks like this:

If I was not receiving checks on a regular basis from Direct Matches then I probably would have given up on it a long time ago. I find the site to be of poor quality, not only is it not aesthetically pleasing but it seems to be loaded with people that are just looking for you to join there “get rich quick” schemes. Trying to weed though the good offers and plain junk is an effort in futility.

If the owners of Direct Matches took some time to revamp the site and make it a little more user friendly, maybe give it a more web 2.0 look, then I might be a little more interested.

Bottom line -

If you are looking to make money with Direct Matches then you better have a good way to advertise it or find a good sponsor that will help you build your downline.

If you are just looking for a place to promote your business for free then you can certainly do that and reach a pretty good audience.

If you are hoping to use it like Facebook but make money doing it…. stick with Facebook.

Hope I helped answer the question “Direct Matches Scam?”

Matt Bryant

Why it is important to brand yourself when you are involved in online marketing. Start a Me Campaign and let people understand who you really are by showing them a little of your world.

What exactly is a “Me Campaign“. In a nutshell, it is selling yourself (I know I sound like Tony Robbins now, right?). Well, think about it, when you go to buy a car who is the last person that you are going to trust? The guy selling a car who is working for commission and just looking for that next sale. The same thing applies to internet marketing. When you try selling anything and everything without actually giving some good service or good information then you are going to turn people off immediately. People aren’t going to put any stock into what some guy says about this great new product if they have never heard of that person or the product.

What if you have caught there attention though? Now, these people do a Google search for you and what do they see? You have no links to your sites in the Google search. People can’t find any information about you. Another lost sale, even if you do have a good product. You need to do a little me marketing.

I know when I see someone shoving some drivel down my throat about “having to sign up for this great opportunity before I miss out” I simply ignore whatever it is that they have to say. Why? I’ve been through it already, the empty promises of “a business that runs itself” and “how I’m going to be rich.”

The truth is that there is no legitimate program out there that is going to do all of the work for you unless you are willing to fork out some serious coin. If you are looking to start your own new online marketing strategy without spending any money then you are going to want to start branding yourself. This is where “Me Marketing” comes in….

How do I build a Me Campaign?

To start with, you have to come to the realization that if you want to do business online then you need to be involved online. Visit social marketing sites like Youtube, Facebook, follow me at Twitter and get yourself out there.

Start your own blog at wordpress (free) and write about whatever interest you. Try and put content on there that is interesting or informative. Remember, “content is king”, the search engines love content. If you write about things that you enjoy then you will attract people with the same interests thus growing your business with like-minded individuals.

If you do start your own blog or website be sure to submit your url to Google so people can find you when they search. If you are going to join Facebook and start spamming to other members about whatever you’re trying to sell then you are missing the whole point of “me marketing”.

Put your name on your posts – After a while you can do a search for yourself and there you will be at the top of Google. You need to be patient though, these things take time to grow. My name is all over Google but I am competing with an NFL star Matt Bryant so I choose to promote my website name rather than my real name. If you do a search for Cre8tiveMedia you will see me all over page 1 of Google…..

Best of luck to you

By saving the $3.63 plus tax from buying a coffee and whatever I felt like eating that day, I now throw that little amount of money into my own business. This can be implemented into whatever type of business that you are interested in having. Personally, I like to run an online affiliate business (find out more here).

Think about it, $3.63 per day, 28 days a month = $101.64

I know what you’re thinking, how far am I gonna get with a hundred bucks a month. You would be amazed what a little money can do for you when it comes to online advertising. I use a marketing system that is completely free and I use the extra hundred bucks to advertise this business on Google and various other sites. You can use the same system that I do…. just visit bryantpublishing.net

For starters…. all I’ve done is change my morning routine of buying coffee and now I brew my own and it costs me just a fraction. Think about all the other things you could cut back on in your life. Do you eat out at lunch or dinner a couple of times a week? Try figuring out how much you spend going out to eat. Now think how much you would save if you made your own lunch and dinner.

If you’re interested in getting rid of your day job and going into business yourself, the first thing that you need to do is get your budget in order. Find out how much you can afford to spend per month. This is half the battle of owning an affiliate business. You see, the big problem in having an online business is not the day to day running of the business, it’s getting people to visit your website(s). I will show you exactly how to get traffic with complete video tutorials (absolutely free).

What’s more, I will give you complete video tutorials on how to set up your own custom business from start to finish. All you need to do is follow the instructional videos and you will have your own business. Not to mention the tax savings that you will get by having your own business. Don’t understand how the whole tax thing works?… Don’t worry, we can help you out there too.

The key is having access to a lot of free resources, free tools and free advertising.

Keep in mind that You do not have to be in my downline to use any of these programs. If you are already a part of an affiliate program, here are a couple of programs and tips to get you started on your various endeavors:

* The Spiderweb Marketing System hot! – (FREE Program)

This amazing system utilizes 12+ streams of income. The beauty of the system is that you could literally set it up and let it do the work for you on autopilot. There are 22+ video tutorials on marketing your site. It takes a little while to set-up, but once you’re done you will have multiple streams of income.

* Join My Downline Club – (FREE Program)

Get a FREE Website and splash pages with all YOUR referral IDs inserted, Get Access a FREE Ebooks Library. You will have downline growth for potentially unlimited number of tiers – with all YOUR referral IDs.
Free Flow-Through of your referral IDs for unlimited tiers of your My Downline Club downline and Real-time statistics both of your direct and indirect downline size plus hits to your programs.
Once you get a few people in your downline that are willing to put a little effort into growing there own business, then you start to realize that you don’t need to put as much effort in to get new affiliates. It starts to become viral and this is when your effort will really start to pay off.

* Advertise on Free Traffic Exchanges

The basic idea for most traffic exchanges is that when you browse through these websites – you earn credits for people to visit your site. This way you can get free, targeted traffic directly to your website.

You also have the option to pay to get traffic without having to do any surfing but if you are on a budget and can’t afford to spend any money on advertising then all you need is your time to surf.

I’ve tried many different exchanges and the only one I really use anymore is TrafficSyndicate 25

These are pretty good also:
Traffic G
I Love Hits

* Contact Your Upline

Most affiliate programs will show you who you signed up under. If you have a way to contact them (email is preferred) then you should take advantage of it. If these people were able to get you to sign up through them, they probably have a good idea of what works. Send them an email and ask if they have any tips or tricks for building there downline. Try to think of this as a team project, your upline wants you to succeed, this way everyone makes money.

* Contact Your Downline

Let them know that you are here to help. Keep in mind that a lot of people would like to remain anonymous and don’t like being contacted. So, I would suggest that you send an initial email letting them know who you are and what program you are affiliated with (I wouldn’t try to call them). If they don’t respond to your email – wait a little while before trying to email them again.

* Advertise FOR Your Downline

I haven’t found a better way to strengthen my downline than this. Instead of advertising your affiliate ID you can advertise for someone in your downline. Simply fill in there username where you would put yours.

It kind of sounds like you’re giving money away right? Well, if your affiliate program pays you when you’re affiliates sign up a new member, like Direct Matches or GDI then you are making money anyway. Plus, you are giving the people in your downline a reason to stay with you.
