The submission of your website to the search engines should be one of the very first steps you take when considering opening up your site to the world.  If you are still in the early stages of creating your site, whatever it may be, chances are that you won’t show up in the search engines without letting them know that you are there.  Google, Yahoo, MSN and the other search engines out there don’t just stumble upon websites unless there is a link from another website to yours – and that site has to be recognized by them in order for them to see your site.

So how do you get started with the submission of your site?  It’s actually a pretty easy task that you should be able to take care of in a short period of time.  There are literally thousands of sites that you can submit your website to but for now I’m going to focus on the major players.  I would suggest not using an automated service for submission at this point.  After all, you can take about 10 minutes to submit to the big guys and it doesn’t cost you anything but your time.

Google, Yahoo, Bing, DMOZ -

Google – http://www.google.com/addurl/ – type in your website along with any comments you may have about your site and click “add url” – simple as that!

Yahoo – http://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com/submit – click on “Submit a Website or Webpage” and enter your url – piece of cake!

Bing (formerly MSN Live Search) – http://www.bing.com/docs/submit.aspx – Type in the letters seen in the “captcha” then type in your website, click “Submit URL” – done!

DMOZ open directory project – http://www.dmoz.org/add.html – for DMOZ you need to make sure your site is put in the correct directory and that your site conforms to the guidelines stated.  This may take you a couple of minutes but you definately don’t want to skip over this one.  When you are excepted into the directory (which can take weeks or months) the other search engines will give your site a little more recognition.  You will also, over time, start to be noticed in the smaller search engines that you may not even heard of.

Now that you are done with the submission of your website to the search engines, you can focus more on the content of your site and trying to get higher rankings when people search for what you are offering.

Using Google Search and Adwords can be a rewarding experience if you can first figure out how to profit from it. The basic idea of Pay-Per-Click (Adwords) is that you pay whatever price you set for a single click to your website (affiliate sites as well).  This price can be set to whatever you want from a penny to as much as you are willing to shell out for one visit to your site.

For those of you that haven’t tried Pay-Per-Click or are a little confused as to how to get started here is a YouTube video that shows you how to get 2 cents per click, using Adwords and the free keyword tool available through Google.

The key to PPC is that, ideally you want to pay as little as possible for the amount of traffic you are looking to get.  Once you get to the point that you are making more money from visitors to your website(s) then you are spending on your PPC advertising then you can start to ramp it up and the possibilities are endless.

Pay Per Click should be a part of any serious online business, the size and scope is up to you.  If you set your max cost per click low and the amount that you are willing to spend per day low, then you can figure out what is working and what isn’t.  Be careful not to start off with a high cost per click and a high amount per day because if there isn’t much competition for specific keywords then you may shell out a lot of money in a short period of time.  Try to take things slow at first and see what’s working for you.

You can also try Yahoo! Sponsored Search. You get a $25 credit just for signing up for a new account. It is similar to Adwords and a lot of times you can pay less for keywords with Yahoo. Google Search (Adwords) is the big player in the industry so there tends to be more competition for advertising.

An easy way to get free traffic to your website would be to use Free Traffic Exchanges.  If you are new to the concept of free traffic exchanges, the basic idea is that you surf through other peoples websites and in turn you receive credit which can be used to send people to your site.

I know what you’re thinking, nothing in life is free… In a way, “free” is just saying that it doesn’t cost you any money but what it does cost you is time.  I have done some research on this and figured out a way to maximize your credits in a very short period of time.  This way you aren’t spending a ton of time surfing and you are getting the most out of your efforts.

To start, you will want to be using Firefox for your internet browser (free download).  You are going to want to sign up with a number of traffic exchanges and surf them at the same time.  You can get some firefox tools that are available for free.  The NoScript, AutoFill Forms and TabMixPlus Addons that are available through the firefox browser.  I have set up a tutorial video at Cre8tiveMedia.org for you with links to all of the things you will need and instructions on how to use everything, check it out here.

Depending upon how you look at it Direct Matches could be considered a scam.  On one hand you may see it as  a good vehicle for a social network that allows you to earn money while you interact with others in the business community.  On the other hand you may see it as an unattractive site with generic advertising and promises of making money hand over fist.

Let’s break it down to pros and cons -

The Pros:

• Huge community of business professionals looking to network
• Free and Paid accounts
• Residual Income
• Spillover from members above you (if you have a good sponsor this helps tremendously)
• Ability to earn an unlimited amount
• Advertise whatever type of business you want

The Cons:

• Not a very good looking site (compared to Facebook, Myspace etc.)
• Can’t earn money as a free member
• First impressions could be that this is a pyramid scheme

I have been with Direct Matches for a little over a year and I must say that I barely use the services that are offered.  I am actually making money with it only because I am able to market it through the Spiderweb Marketing System.  If not for the fact that it is part of my marketing system I would most likely not use it at all.  If you would like to learn more about the spiderweb marketing system visit “How The Spiderweb Marketing System Works“.

One thing I do like about Direct Matches is that you get spillover from your upper levels.  Of course, this is only good if your upper levels are actually referring people.  When you do get a large enough team in your downline then you do start to make some money and you will start receiving checks like this:

If I was not receiving checks on a regular basis from Direct Matches then I probably would have given up on it a long time ago.  I find the site to be of poor quality, not only is it not aesthetically pleasing but it seems to be loaded with people that are just looking for you to join there “get rich quick” schemes.  Trying to weed though the good offers and plain junk is an effort in futility.

If the owners of Direct Matches took some time to revamp the site and make it a little more user friendly, maybe give it a more web 2.0 look, then I might be a little more interested.

Bottom line -

If you are looking to make money with Direct Matches then you better have a good way to advertise it or find a good sponsor that will help you build your downline.

If you are just looking for a place to promote your business for free then you can certainly do that and reach a pretty good audience.

If you are hoping to use it like Facebook but make money doing it…. stick with Facebook.

When I need to post long links and would like to make them into short links I use a very easy tool called snipURL.  This is a great tool if you post on twitter and you need to keep your character count low.  For example, if I wanted to have a link to a webpage that I have about using free traffic exchanges,  I would rather post this short link -

http://snurl.com/fevbf

instead of this long link -

http://www.cre8tivemedia.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=35&Itemid=66

It is definately much easier on the eyes and will take up less space.  The downside is that I do not have my website in the url (cre8tivemedia.org) but if you are affiliate marketing and you are using a capture page like -

http://www.thespiderwebsystem.com/cre8tivemedia

you may be better off snipping it and not allowing people to see “thespiderwebsystem.com” especially if you are not the owner of the site and are relying on your username to be in the link to earn commissions on referrals.

What exactly is a “Me Campaign“. In a nutshell, it is selling yourself (I know I sound like Tony Robbins now, right?). Well, think about it, when you go to buy a car who is the last person that you are going to trust? The guy selling a car who is working for commission and just looking for that next sale. The same thing applies to internet marketing. When you try selling anything and everything without actually giving some good service or good information then you are going to turn people off immediately. People aren’t going to put any stock into what some guy says about this great new product if they have never heard of that person or the product.

What if you have caught there attention though? Now, these people do a Google search for you and what do they see? You have no links to your sites in the Google search. People can’t find any information about you. Another lost sale, even if you do have a good product. You need to do a little me marketing.

I know when I see someone shoving some drivel down my throat about “having to sign up for this great opportunity before I miss out” I simply ignore whatever it is that they have to say.  Why?  I’ve been through it already, the empty promises of “a business that runs itself” and “how I’m going to be rich.”

The truth is that there is no legitimate program out there that is going to do all of the work for you unless you are willing to fork out some serious coin.  If you are looking to start your own new online marketing strategy without spending any money then you are going to want to start branding yourself.  This is where “Me Marketing” comes in….

How do I build a Me Campaign?

To start with, you have to come to the realization that if you want to do business online then you need to be involved online.  Visit social marketing sites like Youtube, Facebook, follow me at Twitter and get yourself out there.

Start your own blog at wordpress (free) and write about whatever interest you.  Try and put content on there that is interesting or informative.  Remember, “content is king”, the search engines love content.  If you write about things that you enjoy then you will attract people with the same interests thus growing your business with like-minded individuals.

If you do start your own blog or website be sure to submit your url to Google so people can find you when they search.  If you are going to join Facebook and start spamming to other members about whatever you’re trying to sell then you are missing the whole point of “me marketing”.

Put your name on your posts – After a while you can do a search for yourself and there you will be at the top of Google.  You need to be patient though, these things take time to grow.  My name is all over Google but I am competing with an NFL star Matt Bryant so I choose to promote my website name rather than my real name.  If you do a search for Cre8tiveMedia you will see me all over page 1 of Google…..

If you are new to the SpiderWeb Marketing System or just interested in how you make money with the system – I am going to try to give a quick explanation of the program and what is involved. All of these programs have complete video tutorials in the backoffice of the spiderweb marketing system but I know some people get impatient and want to know what it’s all about without having to sit through all the videos.

To start off with the system is absolutely free to use. You can use all of the tutorial videos and ideas to start your own online marketing business without spending a dime. You can use it this way or you can take it to the next level and spend some money. If you choose to follow the system and invest some time and money (or no money and just time) then you CAN make some serious money from it.

The spiderweb marketing system automatically puts anyone that you refer to it in your downline for each program that you sign up for. You don’t need to advertise for the programs involved, you just refer people to your custom spiderweb link and everything is done for you. Sooner or later you will end up signing up for certain programs because you will see people signing up and you will be missing out on that particular income stream.

Global Domains International (GDI)

cost: $10/month

GDI offers domain hosting and for ten bucks a month you get your own custom domain name (yourdomain.com) and hosting. With the spiderweb marketing system they take this a step further and use your custom domain to be your affiliate page in the spiderweb marketing system.  In other words, you are not using a long affiliate name like http://www.thespiderwebsystem.com/cre8tivemedia, instead you are using something like http://www.bryantpublishing.net and you don’t have to worry about someone erasing the affiliate extension (cre8tivemedia in this case) off of the url and just trying to sign up through http://www.thespiderwebsystem.com/

If you wish to use the domain that you choose with GDI for another project, that’s fine, you can still use your affiliate link for the spiderweb marketing system separately.  You just won’t be able to mask your affiliate name.

That’s not all, GDI offers $1/month to anyone you refer and $1/month for anyone they refer down 5 levels deep. One dollar may not sound like much but when you get your spiderweb downline referring there downline it can add up pretty quick. GDI offers bonuses also at $100 per 5 members signed up in a 1 week period. Not only are you getting the residual income from these 5 people but you also get an extra hundred bucks. Get 10 people to sign up and get $200 there is no limit – every 5 members in a 1 week period = an extra $100.

I started with Global Domains about a year before I got involved with the spiderweb marketing system.  It is a great little business by itself.

SelfBank Mobile

cost: free (user) / $3.95 month (VIP user) /$49.99 month (Merchant)

Selfbank is the beginning of M-Commerce. Basically you are getting rid of your wallet and using your mobile phone as your credit/debit card instead of plastic.

This is brand new to the industry and they are the first ones to be out there. Check out the partners they have already signed on at their site (Home Depot, Southwest Airlines, The Gap and many more).

You absolutely need to at least sign up for a free account with SelfBank Mobile. I rate this one as the most important one to sign up with because in the next two years it will be everywhere. Remember back when you wrote checks for everything?  Then one day you found out how easy it was to just use a debit card. This is the next step, say goodbye to your wallet and link all your accounts (bank accounts, credit cards, store cards) to your phone!  You can also send and receive money from other members with a few clicks on your phone.  They plan on launching in late 2009.

You make money off of other users that sign up for a free account. You make more money when you upgrade but it isn’t necessary. Check out the different options for the accounts when you sign up. There is too much detail to go into about what you can earn and I don’t want to drag this on too long. Basically you get $100 in advance rewards for signing up and everyone you sign up for a free account gets $100 in advance rewards just for signing up. The VIP and Merchant accounts earn even more.

Direct Matches

cost: Free (Member) / $9.99 (Customer) /

$19.99 (Manager) / $29.99 (Executive)

Direct Matches is a social networking site. They call themselves the Myspace for business. They have 4 levels of membership and you can start out with a free one to get started.  You won’t be able to earn any money until you upgrade to at least a manager.  Direct Matches features a powerline system – with DM you can only sign up 2 people on your first level and then the next person you refer will go underneath the first people you signed on and then so on. Your “powerline” will either flow to your right or your left depending on the way you set it up in your backoffice.  The spillover that you receive from your sponsor depends on how they set things up in their backoffice.

You can’t earn any money in Direct Matches until you have personally sponsored 1 person in each leg of your downline. You also must be at least a manager to get a referral bonus for upgraded members. Commission Junction
cost: Free

There is no cost associated with this unless you want to spend money on advertising with Yahoo. You should absolutely sign up with Commission Junction to make sure that you get any commissions from your downline. Even if you are not interested in advertising with Yahoo, don’t skip out on the income stream.  This is not in the initial stages in the spiderweb marketing system, you get involved in this when they start showing you how to get traffic to your site.

Business Tax Advantage
cost: $29.97 month

This program teaches you how to manage your taxes and capitalize on the money you may spend in your business. Basically, they teach you how you can immediately recoup every penny that you may drop into the spiderweb marketing system or any business that you may want to start. Whether you are starting a brick and mortar business or an online adventure. You get $10 per month for every referral and $5 per month for anyone they refer.

Black Widow Partnership Program
cost: $497 (during beta stage) + $97/month – After beta stage $997 + $97/month

This is for the serious marketer. If you are just casually looking to start an online business then this may not be for you. On the other hand, if you have the money to put into your business then you’re not going to get any better than this. You get the full power of the spiderweb team in your corner helping you grow your business. Plus you get to share in on the 6% equity pool – you get a portion of the money that the spiderweb system is pulling in.

Have you heard the rumors of the SpiderWeb Marketing System scam? I have too. I’m going to try to explain the whole system in this short review.

Basically, the SpiderWeb Marketing System in a nutshell is an MLM company. I know some people see MLM and want to run to the hills because they think of pyramid schemes and selling junk that nobody really needs or wants. The difference with this system is that you really don’t need to spend any money if you don’t want to. You can use all of the free videos and use the entire system before you put any money into it. In fact, you don’t ever have to pay a thing if you don’t want to.
